Pretty simple to get a good sound. A lot of presets, and you can tweek a couple parameters. The MPX 100 also comes with a very good manual.
I have used it while mixing rock music, vocals & instrumentals, and founbd it good for chorus, and great for lush sounding reverbs. The benifit of an outboard effect is it uses no computer resources so if you are using a PC based DAW and you are finding that your system is struggling trying to keep up with the software reverbs then this may be the box for you. As it is discontinued then it sells quite cheaply on ebay. One gripe is it is not very editable, no menus, no LCD so everything is on the dials, well that makes it simpler to use and to be honest when there are to many options you spend more time twiddeling with the unit rather that making music.
I have foiund it very dependable and would quite happliy use it on location without a backup. When connected I have found it to be very quiet in the chain unlike some other reverb units that buzz like a wasp nest. |
