I purchases rhe SE Mc1 for using as a guitar cabinet mike and have found it very usefull in this type of installation. Altough the literature does say it can be used for vocal I have found it to be far to high ended and give a very brittle sound when used as a vocal mike. As it can be used quite effectivly up to a level of 130dB the any area of sound capture that has high volume and fast transients makes this mike an ideal choice. It is a cardoid pattern mike so bleed from other areas is kept to a minimum. The U shaped stand mount is very well constructed and the mike will stay in the position where it is fixed.
I have also found this mike to be excellent as a drum overhead above the crash cymbals again due to it being "toppy" the cymbals sound very crisp and sharp. I would not use this mike to mike any bass instruments but then again I have used it to mike up for acoustic guitar with an additional mike around the 12th fret and the sound was very clean.
